Why is it whenever I go on a run outside, my face gets bright red after 20 minutes of running? I am breathing, I am hydrated (at least I think I am), I am not over dressed by any means… yes, maybe it is too hot outside, but I would even get red faced in the winter time when it was freezing. This also only happens running out doors, it hardly ever happens inside, why? I am sweating like crazy, you can see the glistening all over my face and back, so at least the cars that are passing me by do not think I am a total tard. Actually, more than half of them even honk – odd. Maybe it is because they see my back side first?! Because I am sure if they were to see my front side, with my red face, they would want to call an ambulance to make sure I was doing okay. Come to think of it, and ambulance even passed me it said “McCormick Ambulance” and below that “Supervisor”. He stared long and hard at me before continuing on, maybe he was debating if he would need to resuscitate me soon after I faint from heat exhaustion? I did feel slightly light headed…
Also on my run, this bigger guy was having a hard time continuing running without stopping. I had passed him awhile back, and then turned around at my usual 2 mile mark spot (4 miles round trip) and then was on my way to pass him again. Instead I paced with him, staying about 5 yards behind him. He started to slow down and I did not want to lose my pace, so I ended up passing him just as he stopped running and started to walk. I looked back and said, “Come on, you can do it!” He looks at me with a smile, “What?” He had his headphones on, I repeated, “Come on, you can do it, don’t give up now!” He looked at me not wanting to go on, but willing to, and he did, he paced with me for quite a while, I could hear his feet on the ground, but then they slowed and he eventually stopped to walk. About two minutes later I also stopped to walk, and stretch. Thirty seconds later, I hear him coming up on me (good), and he runs right past. I feel as if I did my good deed for the day! As I am walking the last quarter of a mile to my apartment a BWM pulls behind me and honks his horn (did I mention I was running in shorts and my sports bra? Oh, and I got a lot of sun kisses), the funny thing is, there were 14 year old girls about 20 yards in front of me and they thought the BMW was honking at them, they got really embarrassed and hurried home.
Running always makes me a feel a million times better! When I got home, I showered and felt refreshed, it was great.
When I went to check my computer I had an audition notice for next Thursday for a film that shoots in LA and Toronto, an invite to an album release party with a few LA friends of mine (which I will be going to tomorrow) and about 4 more hours of work left to do before I can relax for the evening. Oh, did I mention that I had bought three dream books yesterday? They have all shipped, so now I am just waiting for their arrival to help explain my dreams.
J will not be coming over this weekend either, so I purposely made myself busy. Working tomorrow morning, Album release party tomorrow night, dance class Sunday morning, maybe a friend’s show Sunday night… Then back to the grind again on Monday. Not to mention a busy week next week, including visiting friends, auditions, working (of course), buying a plane ticket for Seattle for ADR on The Taken and whatever else might happen in my crazy little life…
