Happy Mondays
Oh Monday!I am starting to like Mondays. The sad part is I now dread Sundays, which used to be my favorite day of the week. I think I dread Sundays because my boyfriend has to head back to Coronado for the week and usually it is around noon, so I have the rest of the day to waste without him. When we both lived in Seattle he wouldn’t have to leave to head back to Whidbey Island until either eight Sunday night or four in the morning on Monday, depending on how he felt. We always had a nice long weekend together. Here we are lucky if we get to see each other for longer than twenty four hours. What is worse is that he cannot live in Los Angeles and I cannot live in San Diego (at least I cannot live there now, maybe in a few years) otherwise we would be living together.
So, Monday is actually a good day for me now. It gets my mind off of my boyfriend and I start the week off with my internship at the casting office. This morning (as I usually do at least once a week on a Monday or Tuesday) stopped at my old Starbucks on Santa Monica and La Brea to meet up with my good friend Jordan who still happens to work there. He took his lunch as I got there so we were able to chat for a bit before I had to leave and he had to call his wife. Being the great intern that I am, I made sure to pick up a butter croissant for Sherrie and an iced venti nonfat caramel latte for Dan. Parking is usually horrible on Mondays and Tuesdays near the casting office because those are their street cleaning days (I usually drive around for 15-30 minutes before finding a spot), but today I found a spot close and street cleaning free.
As I walked into the office, everything seemed to be more organized (they had been remodeling their space). I dropped off Sherrie’s croissant and Dan’s iced latte and Sherrie briefed me on my callback. She had told me that she and Dan were both happy with my callback and so was the director. The director also loved that I was off book and that I stuck to the lines without improving. Apparently (and I do this myself) a few of the actors improved quite a bit throughout their scene and it made the director mad. Also, none of the other actors (at least the other Danas) were off book. It sounded like my callback was the best out of all the Dana’s, BUT, the director still was not satisfied, I still was not quite what he was looking for. So, the search continues to find his Dana, while I hope that his producers (who seemed to like me) and maybe with some help from Sherrie and Dan, he will let me read with the name actor that they get for the character Frank and maybe he will see something else there and the role will be mine! Ha, wishful thinking, yes I know, but it would be such a fun role to play! I am just glad that none of the other actresses got the role either, is that bad?!

Directors don't like it when
Directors don't like it when you improve? Maybe you meant improvised?
Improv
Yes, sorry, I meant IMPROV (with no 'e' damn Microsoft Word auto correction) and yes, otherwise known as improvised ;)
