What a busy month!  Ever since I decided on my five year plan, I have really started to focus more on my acting career, knowing that my boyfriend will get out of the Navy in five years, if my career is booming and I can then support us both, turning the tables. 

I had an audition last Friday and I felt it went really well, although normally when I feel auditions went well, usually I do not get a callback and when I feel they suck, usually I get a callback – weird, I know.  I did however get a call on Saturday about a callback for Tuesday – yay!  This is for a feature film that I really enjoy the script and writing and I think it is something that will and can possibly boost my career, or if nothing else, it will be a great piece to add to my acting reel.  What was even better about getting the call for my callback was that it was at Space Station Studios which is where I intern on Mondays and Tuesdays and they wanted me to come in for the callback right before my internship started, perfect.  Luckily, even if the auditions ran late, I work for a casting office that interns actors, so they understand if you have an audition or callback. 

When I went in for the callback, the casting assistant who knows me by name and likes me, called me in; it is always great for them to like you and get to know you.  My read I felt was pretty good, not as great as my first audition, but pretty good.  They asked me to come back in later and read with a guy, but they would call me back downstairs when they were ready.  I thanked them and left up to my internship on the third floor. About a half hour later they called me back down to read with a guy who was probably two inches shorter than me, BUT we were sitting down, so that made it much better.  We actually had pretty good chemistry, not the best that I have had, but decent.  Once our scene was over, I did not feel any warmth or feedback from the casting directors, so I was not sure how exactly it went, which made me a little nervous.  As I walked back out, I saw another girl who had auditioned alone earlier still waiting to read with a guy as well, hmm... well, it is a callback I suppose.

Later that day I get a call from the casting director for Scream Queens 2, a reality series on VH1.  They want me to come in on Wednesday (today – so I got less than 24 hours notice to read the sides and have them FULLY memorized, per their request) for an audition.  I used to want to do only horror films, but since I had really started focusing more on making great films, I have sort of changed my mind on that.  I was debating after watching clips from the show if I really wanted to audition or not, but all my friends were telling me to go out for it, because it is on National television.

I went to the audition today, not feeling as prepared as I should (but again, I didn’t get the sides till like 6pm last night and my audition was today at noon). I went wearing my jean skirt, a black top that shows plenty of cleavage, sexy black heels, a silver belt and silver earrings, so body and outfit wise, I felt sexy and ready, but lines wise, I didn’t.  I went in to the audition as prepared as I could be and bombed my lines… of course.  I knew it.  I never fumbled, but I paused because I forgot them, and then picked it back up.  It did not feel real at all, it felt forced and fake – I hated the audition!  Oh and worst of all, I wasn’t reading to a person, but to a camera, I HATE THAT!  The woman running the camera did say that she liked my scream, that’s a plus… if they were casting alone on body and scream, I’d be a shoe in, but alas, they are not. Oh well!
