  • Why Cheat?

    Add Comment

Work it outWork it outI am tired of hearing about how every couple I know cheats on their spouse or significant other (mainly a spouse).  What happened to being in love and re-creating that love and talking things through instead of giving up and giving in and cheating on your spouse or significant other?  What is the point of being married or being in a relationship if you are going to do that?

  • What Role is Worth It?

I have never been a fan of full frontal nudity, for myself that is.  There are several roles out there, probably at least fifty percent of the ones that I see that require some form of nudity.  Don’t get me wrong, I have done nudity in the past, but it was implied nudity.  I was in a horror film (The Taken) where I woke up naked in a bath tub (I had pasties and a thong on, but looked naked).  I was okay with doing implied nudity for this role because I did not feel that it misrepresented me or the script.  My character had just been physically abused and hurt and was left unconscious in a bath tub in the middle of a large empty building. It fit the script, it fit the role and it was shot very tastefully.

  • On The Set of The League

The LeagueThe LeagueI was called Friday night to get booked as the “Hot Girl” for the very first episode of The League, a brand new television series on FX about four men who want to play on a fantasy football league.  I find out Sunday that they need me to wear upper class business suits/outfits for the scene we are shooting on Monday.  The location is a neighborhood bar for lawyers, stock brokers, etc.   As I look through my wardrobe, I notice that I do have some business attire, but not what I would call upper class or super trendy and expensive.  I started to get slightly concerned as I wanted to make a good impression and not be the only one in top notch clothing, so I dragged my boyfriend with me shopping for several hours on Sunday, shopping that neither of us wanted to do.

  • Happy Mondays

Oh Monday!Oh Monday!I am starting to like Mondays.  The sad part is I now dread Sundays, which used to be my favorite day of the week.  I think I dread Sundays because my boyfriend has to head back to Coronado for the week and usually it is around noon, so I have the rest of the day to waste without him.  When we both lived in Seattle he wouldn’t have to leave to head back to Whidbey Island until either eight Sunday night or four in the morning on Monday, depending on how he felt.  We always had a nice long weekend together.  Here we are lucky if we get to see each other for longer than twenty four hours.  What is worse is that he cannot live in Los Angeles and I cannot live in San Diego (at least I cannot live there now, maybe in a few years) otherwise we would be living together.

  • Operation Callback

I had a callback today (that I was lucky to get, thank you to my casting directors: Sherrie & Dan) for a feature film, leading role, “Operation Cerberus”.  I had brought the sides to the casting director workshop and I was able to work on the first two pages out of six.  I kept getting stopped within the first two, because those were the two hardest pages for me, making the words with many cut off sentences sound believable, especially within the situation that the lead character was in.

  • Personalization

PersonalizePersonalizeI have a lot on my mind right now and what better way to talk about it than blog.  Where to start… Acting is my passion, but I tend to over think it quite a bit which is the worst thing for an actor to do, it can be so simple, yet a handful of us over think.  I was at another casting director workshop the other night and for the first time we were all working on our own scenes for auditions, filming, etc.

  • Never Stop Learning!

Shooting RangeShooting RangeAs an actor you must always keep up on your craft as well as other crafts that will better your craft as an actor, such as if you say you dance, then not only do you need to keep up on your acting classes, but also dance classes, or work on your dialects, or martial arts, or piano, etc.

  • Don’t Be Afraid of the Pretty Girls

Porn Star = bad actingPorn Star = bad actingThe casting office I intern for, love ‘em!  I had an audition for a feature film, leading role might I add, the female carries the whole entire film, AND it is an action movie.  First off, I have been a lead in a feature before, but not Hollywood feature… Seattle feature, and I have shared the lead with others, I have never been a single lead to carry one whole film.  I also do not have martial arts training, but I do learn fight choreography fast on set, so no worries there, but I do have a disadvantage over the girls who do have martial arts training.

  • Tired of Broken Promises

"Indian Giver""Indian Giver"Boyfriend, I love you very much, but I am sooooo done with all these stupid broken promises or take backs.  We, for some reason keep going in this vicious circle of, “We should get married!”, “Really, you really want to?  I am ready when you are. So, when were you thinking…?” “What, I don’t want to get married; I have to complete my training first.” “Wow, okay, then why did you bring it up?  Fine, let’s not talk about it anymore.”  Next day, “I’ve been thinking, we should just get married, no joke.”, “Yea, right – not funny.” “No, seriously, I’ve been thinking about it a lot, I want to for so many reasons.” “Really, okay, I am ready when you are.  So, when were you thinking?” “What, I don’t want to get married until after training is over.” And the circle never ends…
